Just wondering... Why is the Massachusetts Lottery allowed to post signs in store windows of lottery agents claiming how much money was won at that store without disclosing how much was lost. If this were taking place in the private sector which is totally over regulated with disclosure laws this would not be allowed.
I just read a story about consumer confidence showing signs of improvement because consumers are using credit cards more often.
I guess it’s good to put a positive spin on things but that seems a bit ridiculous to me. Sure, my household used our credit cards more this month…. for things we usually pay cash for: $720 for 200 gallons of fuel oil, $66.00 for one tank of gasoline, $142.00 at the supermarket for groceries. This absolutely is not because of consumer confidence. We’re simply running out of cash!
